He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Wheeler and Helen Wheeler; and his brothers, Dick, Bill and Eddie Wheeler.

He is survived by: his wife Zandra Wheeler of Callahan; his daughters, Karla Besemer (Jim) of Jacksonville and Mandy Wheeler of Jacksonville; his grandsons, Alex Besemer, Will O'Brien and Sam O'Brien; and his siblings, Jim Wheeler of Marseilles, IL and Rita O'Neal of Marseilles, IL. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
