He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Lee Thagard and Claudia McGiboney Thagard; and his brother-in-law Henry J. Kinard. He is survived by: his wife Alexis Courson Thagard; his sons, Dink Thagard (Rhonda) of Jacksonville, FL and Kelly Thagard (Shawn) of Callahan, FL; his stepdaughter Lisa Peeples (Stephen) of Carrollton, GA; his daughter Melissa Stokes (Michael) of Bryceville, FL; his siblings, Bennett Thagard (Patricia) of Quitman, GA, June Kinard of Jacksonville, FL and Ruby Jean Maloch (Tommy) of Montgomery, AL; and his grandchildren, Kristen Gentle (Micah) of Carrollton, GA and Kourtney Richeson (Kirk) of Carrollton, GA. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
