Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved James Edgar Truett Sr. of Callahan, Florida, born in Mount Vernon, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 100, on May 24, 2023. He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Truett and Lillian Edwards Truett; his son Joseph R. Truett; and his great grandchildren, Ashley Lauren Quarles and Bill Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Lillie "Mae" Truett; his children, James Truett, Jr. and Beverly; and his son-in-law Ray Scarbrough, Sr.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and many other friends.
