He was predeceased by: his father James Davis; his brothers, Gerald, Harold Davis and Thomas Higginbotham; and his granddaughter Carrie Higginbotham.

He is survived by: his wife Lawanna "Wannie" Bryant of Blackshear; his daughter Debbie Higginbotham of Callahan; his granddaughter Ashley Fowler (Bryce); his great grandchildren, Cameron and Brylynn Fowler; and his siblings, Barbara Wright (Thomas) and Royce Davis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
