He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Otero and Maria Ortiz. He is survived by: his siblings, Maria G. Otero of Puerto Rico, Francisca O. Pitts of Daytona Beach, FL and Jose Otero of Chicago, IL; his stepchildren, Orlando Peace of Rhode Island, NY and Georgianna Peace of Landover, MD; and his stepgranddaughter Dominique Peace of Landover, MD. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
