He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth "Betty" (Ford) and Clarence Ulmer; his son Edward Charles Ulmer Jr.; and his friend Kenneth Salisbury Sr. Ed. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ulmer (Davis); his children, Khristina, Jeremiah (Laura) and Jonathan; his grandchildren, Ashley Fortin-McLaughlin (Jimmy), Edward Charles III, Natalie, Sam, Max and Lucas Ulmer; and his pet Cindy Lou.
