Scott Michael Legere Obituary
Scott Michael Legere 58, of Spring Hill, FL passed away on Wednesday evening, March 18th, 2020 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL.
Scott was born on April 7th, 1961 and grew up in Somers, CT. He moved to Florida in 1989 and spent the remainder of his life there. He was a deeply spiritual man who enjoyed being out in nature, fishing, playing sports, and spending time with friends, especially his dog, GT.
Many know Scott as “Ledge” from his career in radio of over 30 years. He began his career at WAQY in Springfield, MA as an Afternoon Drive Personality and spent many years in the Tampa Bay area on the air for 98 Rock and Thunder 103.5. With his passion for sports and broadcasting, he continued his career working as a studio host/producer/player show host for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He later began his own show titled “Dangerous Conversation” on Radioio.com. Most recently, Scott was able to continue this show back on terrestrial radio on Florida Man Radio, based out of Orlando, FL.
Throughout his career, Scott touched many lives via the airwaves and also served as a mentor to countless individuals entering a career in radio.
Scott was a true humanitarian who encouraged others to be true to themselves and to seek their own truth. His mission was to use his voice and his platform to reach the masses so that he could convey this message.
One of Scott’s final “Tweets” on Twitter truly summarizes what he stood for:
“Never compromise your consciousness/soul. Be authentic. Be genuine. It WILL be the road less traveled, and it won’t be easy. But if you seek and choose truth and love, you can truthfully love the person in the mirror.”-Scott Michael Legere “Ledge”.
Scott will be missed by many family and friends including his daughter, Krista Czyzniak and her husband, Wally of Windsor Locks, CT; his granddaughter, Hailey Czyzniak, and another grandchild on the way; his brother, Paul Legere of Springfield, MA; a sister, Sharon Legere of Boston, MA; his beloved girlfriend Vicki Fifield of Clearwater, FL; and 11 nieces and nephews. Scott was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Roy Legere in 1978, and Mary Irma (Melanson) Legere in 1995; his sister Susan Whitehead, in 2012, and his brother Roy F. Legere in 2018.
A “Celebration of Life” memorial will be held in two locations: Tampa, FL (May 2nd, 2020) and Somers, CT (September 20th, 2020 at the Knights of Columbus in Somers, CT at 11am) In light of recent restrictions due to Covid-19, we will provide updates on this page and social media regarding the time and places of these services.
