He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Jarvi and Elsie Jarvi (Rivers); and his brother Leroy. He is survived by: his former wife Bonnie MacPherson; his wife Janice of Brooksville; his daughter Kathy Heiskanen (Tom) of Negaunee; his stepchildren, Don, Randy and Kim; his granddaughters, Traci Dietz (Paul) and Mary LaPoint (Marc); his sisters, Jeanne Manginen, Susan Hedemann (Pete) and Linda Thomas (Bob); and his sister-in-law Linda (Cindy Shorkey).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Shelter) that he cared so much about.
