He was predeceased by: his parent Francis Shipbaugh; his wife Catherine A. "Katie" Shipbaugh; his son Paul Shipbaugh; and his sister Dorothy Shipbaugh. He is survived by: his parent Hazel Shipbaugh (Sterner); his granddaughters, Stacy McGowan (Jim) and Jill Shipbaugh (Chris Arndt); his great grandchildren, Christopher Arndt, Ryan Arndt and Mylie Arndt; and also Bronson.
