She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Tanton and Hazel Tanton; her husband R. D. Schwendeman; and her siblings, Charles Hill, Barbara McDaniel and Phyllis Swearington.
She is survived by: her children, Robert "Robbie" Schwendeman Jr., Aaron Schwendeman (Kimberly), Albert Schwendeman and Karen Terry. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
