He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ellis Gainer and Osie Haze Gainer; his siblings, Don Ellis Gainer and Kanda "Candy" Gainer Blount; and his former wife Linda Monette Ingram Gainer.
He is survived by: his wife Dr. Donna Carol Gainer of Brandon, FL; his daughter Melissa Holekamp (Greg); his grandchild Toby Holekamp of Decatur, MS.; his nieces, Amber Gainer (Noxapater) and Casey Blount Williamson (Terrance) of Conehatta, MS.; and his great-nephews, Aydon Gainer and Degand Williamson.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 4:00 PM and on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM. Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Welch Funeral Home (201 W Lampkin St, Starkville, MS 39759).
