He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elaine; his children, Joseph Gato and Michelle Perreira (Hanalei); his stepson Jeffrey Tyler (Jennifer); his sisters, Ana Vallery and Lucy Purdue; his pet Chula; his parents, Enrique Gato and Clara Gato; and his brother Arthur. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren.
