It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine Merritt of Brandon, Florida, born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, who passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Emaline Bates; her husband Samuel Merritt; and her children, Larry Maddin and Lottie DeSanctis. She is survived by: her daughters, Loretta Stephens (Bud), Linda Heinzelman (Dale), Lucinda Schultz (Alan) and Lorna Maddin; and her children-in-law, Ray DeSanctis and Kathleen Maddin. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; many extended family members and good friends.
