He had an infectious, larger-than-life personality, lived a remarkable life, was devoted to his family, and was a trusted advisor and mentor to many. He loved his adopted country and was a decorated war hero who, after fleeing Europe, returned and fought at Omaha Beach, Normandy. Dear father of Rochelle (Saul) Lenhoff, Louise (Dr. Steven) Spector, and the late Charles Schweiger. Loving grandfather of Adrienne (fiancé Steven Rotenberg) Lenhoff, Adam Lenhoff, Ben Spector, Sam (Glenn Greilsamer) Spector. He was the adoring great-grandfather of Hannah Wise, August Spector, and Saxon Greilsamer-Spector. He was the proud uncle of Fred (Bryna) Steiner, Martha Cohen, Jess Elson, Ron (Kathy) Friedman, and Gail (Jerry) Beale. He was a devoted friend to his caregiver and companion, Marie Regis. Predeceased by his loving wife of 77 years, Shirley, sister Selma (Bill) Steiner, and brother, Irvin Schweiger.
