With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doretha L. Franklin of Bradenton, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 18, 2024 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Benjamin P. Smalls; her son Carl Salter Jr.; and her siblings, Benjamin Smalls, Henry Smalls, Freddie Smalls and Aletha Williams.
She is survived by: her mother Quilla Mae Smalls; her children, Katrina Franklin and Charles Franklin Salters, Jr.; her grandchildren, Shauntavia Green, Carl L. Salter, Canaidja Salter, Shavanti Salter, Cartravius Salter, Charles Franklin III and Kimaya Franklin; her siblings, Johnnie (Vickie) and Jacquelyn (Marvin); her aunt Lillie Evans; and her close friends, Josephine Thomas and Patricia Kilpatrick.
