He was predeceased by: his sibling Claire Nugent. He is survived by: his wife Margaret McGowan (Mathieson); his children, Maureen Donlan (Peter) of Plymouth, Stephen McGowan (Laurie) of Plymouth, Julie Carragher (Brian) of Braintree, Mark McGowan (Theresa) of Plymouth, Patricia Sexton (Richard) of Braintree and Michael McGowan (Kerry) of Gilford, CT.; his siblings, Richard McGowan of Norfolk, VA and Marie DeAngelis; and his grandchildren, Meaghan, Colleen, Caitlin, Brian, Matthew, Brendan, Caroline, Sean, Mollie, Patrick, Daniel, Nolan, Andrew, Ryan, Redempta, Jackson, Giuliana, Gannon, Elijah and Norah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Don's name may be made to the St. Joseph Food Pantry, 2704 33rd Ave, W. Bradenton, FL 34205.
