He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Brown Jr. and Helen Whiteman Brown; and his sister Susan Brown Diggins. He is survived by: his wife Christine "Chrissy" DeSimone Brown; his sons, Patrick J. Brown (Michelle) and Michael R. Brown (Tracy); his grandchildren, Sean of Nashville, Tennessee. and Kayla of Nashville, Tennessee.; his niece Sarah DeSimone; and his nephews, Anthony and Luke DeSimone (Lexi). He is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Throughout his career, John made significant contributions to law enforcement, playing a pivotal role in combating drug trafficking, and ensuring the safety of communities.
