He is survived by: his wife Sonia Portnoy; his children, Dr. Stuart Portnoy, Dr. William Portnoy, Monica Portnoy and Sherry Portnoy; his grandchildren, Max and Jessie Portnoy; and his sister Joyce Ilowitz.
