He was predeceased by: his parents, George Blackburn and Mary Blackburn; his brother George Blackburn; his grandsons, Alex and Clayton Blackburn; and his stepdaughter Patty Hepler.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene; his children, Ace Jr. (Lesha), Tad (Amy) and Janille Eggert (Glen); and his stepsons, Dave Hepler (Joy), Frank Hepler (Heidi) and John Hepler (Kendall). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
