He was predeceased by: his mother Laverne Cribbs; his brothers, Ricky Johnson and Jeff Johnson; and his parents-in-law, Ray and Belle Brobst.

He is survived by: his wife Cindy Johnson; his father Buck Johnson; his children, Chris Salter (Selina), Stacy Pascarella (Seth), Angela Roberts (Dale) and Nicholas Salter (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Christina, Jarrett, Karley, Dean, Josalyn, Austin, Clay, Tina, Kristin, Stevie, Ethan, Maddie, Colby and Frank; his great grandchildren, Val and Kason; and his siblings, Tracy Wells (Jim), Jeffrey Johnson and Shane Johnson.
