He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Matre (Gubbins); his children, William Patrick Matre (Cheryl), Linda Marie Matre, Cynthia Ann Matre (Eric Krull) and Susan Eileen Matre (Charles Pokoski); his grandchildren, Lindsey Solesi (Anthony), Kerianne, William, Melanie, Kristin, Kyle, Kurt, Allison and Sean; and his sister Micheline Szcznesiak (Theodore).
