He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Vandegrift and Christine Vandegrift (Prager); and his siblings, Dorothy Major, Marjorie Stoddard, Ruth Cliver, Margaret Schaum and William Vandegrift.
He is survived by: his wife Anita; his children, Robert Vandergrift (Debbie) of Weatherford, TX, Paulette Vandegrift of Roebling, NJ, Donna Green-Abrams (Tom) of Providence Forge, VA and Claudia D'Autrechy (Martin) of Burlington, NJ; and his nephew Joseph Cliver. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
