With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John C. Arendes of Bonita Springs, Florida, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. As John departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Arendes. He is survived by: his mother Lily Ann Francis (Marino) of Naples, FL; his wife Joann P. Arendes; his daughter Gabriella Arendes of Washington, D. C.; his sisters, Nicole Gianni (Vinny) and Jade Bleecher-Arendes (Gabe) of Queens, NY; and his stepbrother Justin Paguaga (Amy).
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home (28300 S Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs, FL 34134). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church (28300 Beaumont Rd, Bonita Springs, FL 34134).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in John's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, or any veteran-supporting foundation of your choice. John's legacy of generosity continues as he gave the gift of life through organ donation.
