He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ida Allaire and Fred Chester Burgess, Sr.; his wife Isabelle Perry; his children, Fred Michael Burgess, Kathy Gumph (Jack) and Janet Crosson (Scott); his daughter-in-law Gail Burgess; his grandchildren, Katelyn Burgess (Michael Spewak), Michael Burgess (Cate), Shannon Fessenden (Sean) and Daniel Crosson (Nikkole); and his great grandchildren, Luke, Patrick, Grace Fessenden and Eleanor Spewak.
