He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Nathan and Helene Lynch; his wife Shirley Janet Rutz Smith; his son Michael W. Smith; his grandchildren, Jamison Michael Smith and Allison Marie Smith; and his half-sister Susan Rosemann.
He is survived by: his children, Marcella M. Marcel of Bonita Springs, FL and William R. Smith (Janita) of Bonita Springs, FL; his daughter-in-law Kelly Smith of Palatine, IL; and his half-sister Karen Bernard Kantor of New Jersey. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home (28300 S Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs, FL 34134). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
