He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Laney and Annie Jannie Pettis; his daughter Rebecca Godsey; and his granddaughter Miranda Godsey. He is survived by: his daughter Christine Suydan (Randy); his grandchildren, Morgan Scheff (Tyler), Michael Godsey (Jenna) and Mercy Shupe (Cory); and his siblings, Wayne Pettis (Susan) of Shalimar, Rosalyn Bell (Robert) of Bonifay, Wendell Pettis (Gladys) of Bonifay, Willard Pettis (Betty) of Freeport, Wilfred Pettis of Bonifay and Woodrow Pettis (Frances) of Caryville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
