He was predeceased by: his parents, Goldie Griffey and Louis M. Griffey; his wife Phyllis Howard Griffey; his siblings, Louise Ehlert and Lloyd Griffey; and his children, Ron Griffey, Don Griffey, Charles Griffey and Connie Griffey.

He is survived by: his children, Terry Griffey of San Diego, CA and Kim Lewis of Kansas City, MO; his grandsons, Christopher Sanders of Kansas City, MO, Cody Griffey of Kansas City, MO, Aaron Lewis of Kansas City, MO and Isaac Lewis of Kansas City, MO; and his sister Betty Murray of Odessa, MO. He is also survived by 6 six great-grandchildren, many friends and neighbors.
