He was predeceased by: his parents, Big Syd (Sydney Dixon McMorran) and Jean (Jean Katherine McLaughlan) of Bishop's University; and his sister Dixie McMorran. He is survived by: his children, Tracy Ludig (Kalle), Lea McMorran and Tom McMorran; and his sister Jane Paterson (Ron).

Bud rose to become a Vice Chairman of the Toronto Dominion Bank and held positions on many charitable boards throughout his life, such as the Ontario March of Dimes and the Michael Garron Hospital Fundraising Foundation.
