She is survived by: her husband Dr. Kenneth Kiluba Pembamoto; her children, Dr. Karen Wheel Carter, David Pembamoto and Pauline Pembamoto; her grandchildren, S. Denise Brookins and Mamadou Bah; her siblings, Howard James Gillis (Irene), Rosa Lee Gillis, Ronald Gillis, Trudy Davis, Marilyn Davis (Ralph), Deborah Landrum III (Moses), Mutaba Samuel Pembamoto (Madas), Ruth Pembamoto, Matthew Pembamoto (Choudelle), Marc Pembamoto, Marina Pembamoto (Michel), Mery Pembamoto (Maxime) and Elie Pembamoto; and her nieces and nephews, Deanna Woods (Bobby), Michael Grimes (Rose), Dawn Coote (Linford), Alika Redd (Isaac), Anthony M. Johnson, Ieesha Gillis, Jameeka Gillis, Moses Landrum IV, Philip Landrum and Aaron Landrum. She is also survived by cousins and friends.
Throughout her career, she received numerous recognitions and awards for her outstanding contributions to business process improvements including recognition by the state of Maryland's comptroller for#designing and implementing a timesaving program for systems developers.
