He was predeceased by: his daughter Leigh Ann Townsend. He is survived by: his wives, Betty Franklin Townsend and Patricia Wilson Townsend of Bell; and his sisters, Brenda Townsend Whited and Linda Townsend.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to New Beginning Baptist Church or to Haven Hospice in Chiefland.
