He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Dickens and Velma Skipper Dickens; his brother Wayne Dickens; his nephew John David Johnson; and his brothers-in-law, John Johnson and Dempsy Sowell.

He is survived by: his siblings, James Dickens of Malone, Jeanette Sowell of Bascom, Joann Johnson of Bascom, Janas Jolly (Aaron) of Marianna, Minnie Reeves (Warren) of Chipley and Nina Basford (Bob) of Greenwood.
