He was predeceased by: his daughter Stephanie D. Smothers; and his father James Cary Smothers. He is survived by: his wife Paula Smothers of Bartow; his children, Christie Smothers of Bartow and Joe Smothers (Kristen) of Bartow; his siblings, Sonya A. Garner of Carson, MS and Tim Smothers of Bartow; and his granddaughter Stephanie Smothers (Mother Lenore Mooneyham). He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
