He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto M. A. and Jessie M. Smith Grunow; his brother Bruce Grunow; his sister-in-law Shirley Grunow; his brother Robert W. Grunow; and his sister-in-law Mary E. Grunow.
He is survived by: his wife Deanne Derby of Lanesborough Massachusetts; his sons, Gregg Grunow (Karen) of Culpepper, VA, Brian Grunow (Remi) of Milford, CT and Glenn Grunow (Debbie) of Milford, CT.; and his grandchildren, Ben, Riley, Amber and Brenda.
