It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hattie Elzadie Alford Burgess of Baker, Florida, who passed away on December 29, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeremiah Alford and Addie Rea Peacock Alford; her husband James Burgess; her son James Gary Burgess; and her brothers, Bill Alford, Jerry Alford, John Gary Alford, Joel Alford and Jordan Alford.
She is survived by: her children, Stewart Burgess (Sandra) of Baker, Florida and Debra Dunn (Steve) of Samson, Alabama; her daughter-in-law Pam Leavins of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; her siblings, Gail Cole (RL) of Wing, Nina White of Darlington, Florida, Douglas Alford (Joyce Smith Alford) of Darlington, Florida and Steve Alford (Sue Alford) of Darlington, Florida; her sister-in-law Joyce Alford; and her grandchildren, Dawn Martin (Robert), Jamie Heady (Dave), Ira Miller (Kristine), Sam Dunn, James Burgess, Shawn Griffith and Brianna Crowson (Adam). She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
