He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Hayes and Leoma Maxwell. He is survived by: his children, Shellie Christman (Dave), Susi Maxwell Zwalina of Orlando, FL, Jennifer Maxwell Charles (Chris), Jared Adcock (Summer) and Casey Morris (JF); his grandchildren, Isabella, Kennedy, Maxwell, Brewer, Jack and Conley; his great grandchildren, Raylan and Liam Hayes; his siblings, Jane Day and Claire McGraw (Ken); and his nieces and nephews, Beth (Bruce), Kim (John), Bonnie, Stephen and Lea (Kevin).
The family encourages the use of masks and social distancing.
