She was predeceased by: her parents, James Karnes and Ida Mae Karnes (Stapleton); her sister Mary Mae Karnes; and her great grandchild Emily Hughes. She is survived by: her husband Lowell Hughes; her daughters, Shelley Carpenter (Jeff) of Salisbury, NC and Jessica Hughes-Hopson; her grandchildren, Adam Hughes of Columbus, OH and Katie Lowe (Matthew) of Robinette, WV; her brother James Karnes of Frostproof, FL; her nephews, James K Karnes, Brensbach, Robert E Karnes and Darmstadt; her siblings-in-law, Michael Hughes (Margo) of Globe, AZ, Curtis Hughes (Karen), Carol Pierce, Pat Solomon (Kenny), Ann Hughes of Man, WV, Marlene Gross and Zimmern; and her great grandchildren, Abi Lowe, Grace Belcher, Mattie Belcher, Hayley Goins and Gavin Hughes.
Due to the COVID 19 risks and restrictions no services are being planned at this time.
She served the community for many years working as a receptionist for Community Health Foundation until the doors closed and she was able to retire.
