He was predeceased by: his parent King Robert; and his siblings, William Nye, Frances Bosley and Ruth Benjamin. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Nye of Avon Park, FL; his daughters, April Nye Davis (Jeff) of Kokomo, IN, Amy Tucker (James) of Avon Park, FL, Lynn Stiffler (Bill "Buzz") of Greentown, IN and Dawn Cross (Jason) of Avon Park, FL; and his sister Margaret Young of Mt. Blanchard, OH. He is also survived by four Grandchildren and three Great-Grandchildren.
