She was predeceased by: her former husband Malcolm; her stepchild Lee; her sister Reba Lee Hughes; her nephew Robbie Hughes; her niece Joy Hughes; and her parents, James Sealie and Velma Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Sheila Stakemiller [Pat] McGuffin, Sherry Stakemiller [Kent] Grimes, Sandy Stakemiller [Ken] Koo, Susan Stakemiller Lare and Gary Stakemiller; her fiancé Dee; her niece Janet Hughes [Danny] Adams; and her stepdaughter Susan Tetreault [Robert] Tate.
