She was predeceased by: her husband James Norman Briggs (Chick); her son James Robert Briggs; her siblings, Willie Mae Shields, Leroy Lucas, Curtis Lucas, Ralph Lucas and Edgar Lucas; and her grandchild Tracie Lee Briggs.
She is survived by: her sons, Mike Briggs and Jack Briggs; her siblings, Evelyn Black, Ray Lucas and Gerald Lucas; and her grandchildren, Susan Briggs, Lauren Lawler, Richard Briggs and Cathy Briggs. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
