He was predeceased by: his father William Woodson; and his former wife Ruth Marcum Benton. He is survived by: his wife Lynda Gayle Benton; his children, Bill Benton (Trudy) of Avon Park, FL, Kimberly Barkley (Ken) of Port Charlotte, FL, Jason Boddie of Jacksonville, FL, Eddie Harris (Sarah) of Jacksonville, FL and Kim Boddie of Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Brad, Kenny, Abby, Ella, Ashley, Zachary, Zane, Nathan, Noah and Emma; and his great grandchildren, Willow, Holden and Rosie.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Road Church of Christ, or to Central Florida Bible Camp.
