She was predeceased by: her parents, Bennie Coger Sr. and Mary Lean Jakes (Willie); her siblings, Willie Ben Clark (Loretta), Bennie Coger Jr. (Merty), Willie Jakes Jr. II and Justina Jakes; and her children, Carlee Ellis Jr., Darby Ellis (Tanya), Ruby Jean Bryant (Julius) and Alice Marie Ellis.

She is survived by: her children, Gail Berkes, Matthias Ellis (Michelle), Andrew Ellis (Kim) of Rochester, Rawn Mitchell of Phoenix, Novel Ellis of Conner, Georgia, Toshia Mitchell of Rochester, Glenda Wise and Lashawn Ellis of Arcadia; and her siblings, Tommy Jakes Sr., Vera Hernandez-Mendez (Ramon) and Earline Coger. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
