He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Keller Burtscher and Dorothy L. Rape Burtscher; and his siblings, Karl and Florence Burtscher Thomas. He is survived by: his girlfriend Vickie Miller of Arcadia, FL; his sons, Brian Burtscher of Arcadia, FL and Brad Burtscher (Debbie) of Arcadia, FL; his grandchildren, Lacie Hershberger (Tony) of Arcadia, FL, Jared Hart of Arcadia, FL and Abrianna Burtscher of Arcadia, FL; his great grandchildren, Kiersten Klossner of Arcadia, FL, Alaina Klossner of Arcadia, FL, Gracelynne Jones of Arcadia, FL and Jared "Jay" Hart of Arcadia, FL; his siblings, John Burtscher (JoAnn) and Joanna Hewett (Ernie); and his brother-in-law Thomas Mooney (Jane). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
