He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Simmons and Allen Simmons; his brother Dr. Denis Simmons (Gretchen Simmons); and his son Eric Simmons. He is survived by: his significant other Barbara Clevenger; his children, Samuel Simmons, Jessica Fischer (Michael Fischer), Al Simmons (Samantha Simmons) and Sarah Lindgren (Adam Lindgren); and his grandchildren, Joey, Eli, Sloane, Lucy, Henry and Sullivan (Philip).
