We bid farewell to Altamease McKenzie of Apopka, Florida, born in Geneva, Florida, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 17, 2025 at the age of 93. Altamease touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Altamease may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Altamease touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Bell Stewart and Leroy Detreville; her spouse Eddie E. McKenzie; her sister Bertha Mae Holt; her daughters, Betty Ann Perry and Rhonda Lou Gibson; and her stepdaughter Eddie Lee Harris.
She is survived by: her sister Dorothy Salary; her son Edward McKenzie (Geneva); and her stepson Leonard Cotton (Phyllis). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
