He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Cassis and Jeanette Cassis. He is survived by: his brother Albert; his wife Barbara; his daughters, Madison Spann, Kimberley Alkins and Alysha Cassis-Shaw; his son-in-law Dwayne Shaw; his nephews, Gary and Glenn Cassis; and his cousin Billy Taylor. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
