He was predeceased by: his parents, Juana Rivera (Cruz) and Concepcion Rivera; and his son Ismael Rivera, Jr.. He is survived by: his former wife Rosa Rivera; his children, Luis Rivera, Jorge Rivera, Linda Rivera (Elio Camacho, Sr) and Nelson Rivera; his grandchildren, Bobby Rivera, William I. Rivera, Ashley C. Rivera, Amber J. Rivera, Jorge A. Rivera, Stephanie M. Carrero, Ismael Rivera III, Cassandra Beniquez, Josephine Leon, Jayden Rivera and Gianna Rivera; and his siblings, Margarita Negron, Exa Negron, Carmen Torres, Margarita Cabeza, Carmen Nydia Rivera, Marcelina Rivera, Maria Rivera and Concepcion Rivera, Jr.. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
