He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis T. Bartlett and Sabath Kennedy Bartlett. He is survived by: his wife Anne; and his children, Dianne Rich (Walter Clark), Richard K. Bartlett, Jr. (Mark Francis Bartlett) and Thornton Edward Bartlett.

Rather than flowers, the family asks he be remembered by donations to St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
