He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Lila Shewmaker-Rea; his children, Mathew James Rea (Lisa), James Gordon Shewmaker, James Lee Shewmaker III and Bridgette Shewmaker-Cochran (Kenny); his mother Catherine Burkeybyle (Young); his siblings, Cathy Johnson (Larry), Robert Rea and William Rea (Jill); his grandchildren, Lexi Rea, Cutter James Cochran, Brilee Blake Cochran and James Lee Shewmaker IV; and his nephew William Dunbar.
