Dixie Belle Tharp Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dixie Belle Tharp of Altoona, Florida, who passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Linda Simmons, Steve Tharp (Dana Tharp), Deborah Adams (Royce Adams), Robyn Dotson (John Dotson) and Robert Tharp II (Amanda Tharp); her siblings, Frieda Johnson, Bonnie Troutman, Judy Mosier, Johnie Cobb and Carol Pollak; her close friend Mary McGonigal; her husband Robert Tharp; her parents, Lee Cobb and Hazel Cobb; her siblings, Frankie Cobb, Mary McClelland, Joyce Patterson, Betty Miller and Melvin Cobb; and her son-in-law Bobby Simmons. She was also cherished by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers Dixie has asked that donations be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
