He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Gakstatter and Helen Shaw Gakstatter; his wife Kathryn Kane of Altoona; his children, Cheryl Potthoff of Algonac, MI, Cathy Plec (Mark) of Richmond, MI, Stephen Gakstatter (Diane) of Iron Mountain, MI and Eric Gakstatter (Karibeth) of Kawkawlin, MI; his siblings, Frances Trombley of St Pete, FL, Deborah Watts of Detroit, MI and David Gakstatter of Armada, MI.; his former wife Theresa Irene; and his siblings, Paul W. Gakstatter and Shirley Wiggins. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.
